Selection of the past year’s most consequential performances in new theatre

Together with the festival dramaturg, Karolina Plicková, the programme features 35 theatre events that illuminate on the current independent scene from many different perspectives the theatre trajectories that are considered new, unusual, original.

We have chosen “changes in sensitivity” as the guiding key for the festival’s dramaturgy. Interested in concrete strategies for theatrical forms to touch contemporary audience, we focused on variety of forms, intensities and boundaries of a touch. Therefore the festival programme features theatre that scratches, irritates, provokes, pinches, pinches, presses, embraces, does not let go, caresses, cares about, tickles, embraces, floods, floats, releases, bristles, burns. We were irritated by a touch literally and as a figure of speech, a touch that cannot be located, a touch not yet clearly defined, or a touch we perhaps hesitate to name so as not to lose its steadfast quality.
